Procurement and Logistics is a department within NHS Grampian based at Central Stores
Complex, Foresterhill Road, Aberdeen AB25 2XE. We provide procurement and logistics
services right across NHS Grampian to the likes of Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital
and Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin.
Our prime duties are to provide a professional and cost efficient procurement and
logistics service in accordance with NHS Grampian Standard Financial Instructions,
Policies and Procedures; and deliver full compliance with domestic and European
legislative requirements.
In our business dealings, we effectively balance the different 'best value for money'
factors by evaluating individual goods and services in terms of their whole-life
costs. In other words, NHS Grampian Procurement and Logistics Department must be
able to clearly demonstrate quality and economy throughout the complete life cycle
of each particular product or service contract.
As a major purchaser of goods and services in the North-East of Scotland, the NHS
Grampian Procurement and Logistics Department recognises that its purchasing decisions
have major socio-economic and environmental implications, both locally and globally,
now and in generations to come. These range from the pollution and biodiversity
loss arising from the manufacture of goods and services purchased, to the potential
employment and economic benefits of purchasing locally manufactured goods.
